Ms. Donovan

Hello Wonderful American Academy 4th Grade Parents,

I am so excited about getting this school year started and getting the kiddos back into the classroom! We have so much fun in 4th grade and have many activities planned throughout the school year. Fingers crossed that we will be in a physical classroom for the whole year!  We cover many exciting and challenging topics in 4th grade.  Since the curriculum is very diverse and challenging, homework will be an important reinforcement tool to help students achieve mastery.

This will be my fourth year teaching 4th grade Math and History at American Academy.  I was born in Los Angeles, California but grew up in Centennial, Colorado.  I have two kiddos of my own (5th and 7th grade) and come from a long background of classroom experience. I earned my undergraduate degree in Behavior Science with a focus in History from Metropolitan State University of Denver. After working in the corporate world, I decided to go back to school and earn my Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Arizona State University.

I find that communication is the key to success in my classroom and in 4th grade. Please feel free to contact me by email at and I will do my best to respond within 48 hours during the school week, and by Monday afternoon if the email is sent over the weekend.

Your student is in for a great first week as we begin to get to know each other and learn the habits and procedures of American Academy.  Thank you and I look forward to a successful school year!
