Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd Grade:
 
Review of Sports, Games and Skills
•    Activities: Soccer, Dr. Dodgeball, Crazy Bowling, and Hula Hoop Tag
Evaluation: Following rules and using correct technique when performing an exercise, skill or locomotor movement.
•    Exceeding: Consistently
•    Proficient: Most of the time
•    Approaching: Occasionally
Standards:
•    Engages actively in physical education class in response to instruction and practice. (S3.E2.2)
•    Performs locomotor skills (hopping, gal-loping, running, sliding, skipping) while maintaining balance. (S1.E1.K)
•    Throws underhand or overhand with opposite foot forward. (S1.E13.K)
•    Dribbles with the feet in general space with control of ball and body. (S1.E18.2)
Accommodations:
•    Students will be shown alternative exercises if needed based on ability and strength levels.
 
Objectives
 
-We will review certain skills, rules, and exercises during sports and games that have been incorporated so far this year.
-We will master locomotor skills in a game which incorporates a variety of movements and fitness exercises.
-We will review and practice the correct techniques for throwing, catching, and kicking a ball.

3rd, 4th and 5th Grade:
 
Ultimate Football
•    Throwing and catching
•    Teamwork and player positioning
Kickball
•    Kicking, catching, throwing and player positioning
Wiffleball
•    Striking with a long-handled implement, throwing, and catching
•    Player positioning
Evaluation: Actively participates in communicating with teammates to create new ideas and strategies.

Standards:
•    Accepts, recognizes and actively involves others with both higher and lower skill abilities into physical activities and group projects. (S4.E4.5)
•    Recognizes the role of rules and etiquette in physical activity with peers. (S4.E5.3)
•    Throws overhand to a partner or at a target with accuracy at a reasonable distance. (S1.E14.4b)
Accommodations:
•    Students will be shown alternative throwing and catching techniques based on ability levels.
 
Objectives
 
-We will demonstrate the proper way to throw and catch a football.
-We will work in teams to create strategies for improving team success.
-We will continue to improve kicking and catching techniques while playing a game which requires player positioning.
-We will improve our skill of striking by learning the proper way to strike a ball out of the air with a bat.
