Lincoln Meadows

Library - LM

Hello and welcome to the AALM Library! My name is Ms. Ciarlelli and this will be my first year as librarian at AALM. I am so excited to work with your kids, teach them how to explore the library, and help them expand their love of reading.

While your child is utilizing the library every week, I encourage parents to stay engaged in what books your children are taking home. Ask why they are choosing a particular book, how they found it, and what they enjoy about it.

Books are typically loaned out for one week at a time. Students are not able to check out additional books until they have returned last week’s book. In order to keep the library stocked with wonderful books, please make sure that books are being returned and that they are well taken care of.

Kindergarten
Once a week your child will join me in the library. We will spend time each week reading books together, learning about the components of books, and learn how to find books to check out. Their first time in the library your student will be given a “practice” book to take home. If their practice book is returned the following week, they will be able to check out a real book to take home!

Grades 1-5
Once a week, your child will join me in the library for story time. Depending on their grade level, we will read a new book or chapter of a single book each week. We will also spend time learning about the Dewey Decimal System, the components of books, and how to better explore a library to find books they love.

Middle School
Your child will utilize the library in different ways. Textbooks, workbooks, summer reading, and literacy novels are all provided through the library. They are also welcome to stop in and take out a book at any time.
