In addition, we will be conducting a Lockdown Drill at each campus with DCSD security. Our experience doing these drills with DCSD security has been very positive for the kids and adults alike, as they always take the time to have age appropriate discussions with the kids and answer questions they may have.
With that, an important component of running safety drills and having planned late starts, is the emotional well being of our students, parents and staff. We realize that everyone responds differently to these situations, and we would like to provide resources for our parents to help in talking with your children. We have a link on our Student Support Services webpage with resources for additional help. (Resources coming soon.)
If you have any questions or concerns about your child participating in this drill, please reach out to their teacher or to our school counselor. We are happy to help in any way we can.
