We hope you all had an enjoyable time chatting with us at conferences and that you are looking forward to continuing those amazing conversations with your young learners!
What We’re Learning
We are diving into the world of addition, math facts, and having a great time earning our math ice cream scoops for our addition fact practice in the classroom! Please continue to look for homework in student’s folders and ensure that it is sent back in a timely manner.
We are digging in deep with vowels, types of sentences, reading strategies for success, and so much more! Our literacy blocks are full of excited and engaged students who are eager to show you all how much they’ve grown since the beginning of the year!
We are finishing up our amazing weather unit. We’ve explored severe weather types, weather forecasting tools, meteorology, and the exploration of the sun, energy, and its effects on our bodies. We will continue to dig into concepts of solar energy in coming weeks, recycling, and earth day.
STEM begins next week for our Kinders. We will be remaining in our home rooms for most of the day, while students are rotating through STEM. This unit is all about exploring STEM and simple machines! Talk to your child each day to learn about the amazing, fun, things they are doing!
Notes from Your Teachers
We have another field trip coming up on Friday February 28th, 2020. We will be going to Arapahoe Bowling in Greenwood Village. We will be there from 11:30 AM to 1 PM, and will need to know your child’s shoe size to participate. Please send a small note with your child that has their shoe size on it in their red folder on February 24th. Please remember to pack your child a NUT-FREE, brown bag lunch for that day. Thank you!
Our Valentine’s Day party will follow a similar schedule to all of our other parties. More details on this party will be forthcoming! Please remember, these events are nut free, and no valentine’s may be given that have nuts in them.
100TH DAY OF SCHOOL
We love seeing our kindies dressed up as 100-year-old folks! We will share more information on exciting activites that will come home closer to the event.
COLD WEATHER - UNIFORMS
We know it is getting cold outside and kids are staying cold inside. With the Uniform Policy, sweatshirts/sweaters worn in school do need to be uniform (from the Dennis Store). On another note, long sleeve shirts can not be worn under uniform shirts. Any questions on the Uniform Policy, please look at our Uniform Policy Page
on the School Website.
Don’t forget every family is required to track their 40 hours of volunteering! If you have volunteered recently, make sure to log in and do that! If you are looking for ways to volunteer, please go to our website. We have several sign-ups on there for volunteering! Questions regarding this, feel free to look at the Visitor and Volunteer Policy

PARENTS NIGHT OUT
Parent’s Night Out is coming up again on February 7th! Enjoy an evening out, maybe an early Valentine’s date, or just a kid free night, while your kids are having fun at school until 10pm! Mrs. Anderson and Ms. Johnson have a full night of fun planned for the kids! All you need to do is sign them up on the School Store
The Month at a Glance
CORE VIRTUE OF THE MONTH
We are working on COURAGE this month. Please practice this with your child by having them talk about how they can express courage by standing up for themselves or others’, by ensuring that they are acting with fairness and compassion, and by practicing ways to talk through our problems.
We hope you have a wonderful weekend!
